The film is an attempt to place the problems of South Africa in a new perspective. Nothing can justify the inhumanities of apartheid, as it existed, before the process of dismantling it began, or in fact justify the few remaining semblances of it in South African society today. But attitudes die hard and one of our most important aims should be to see to it that as the old order passes on to a new one, it should be done in an attitude of peace and acceptance by all, so that when the dust settles, it does not then take decades to heal the scars.
