Description
Cap Badge of The Rifle Brigade, with Kings Crown.

WW1 issue. Blade mounted.

Cap badge as worn during the Great War period, which displays the very respectable 15 Peninsula War battle honour scrolls on the wreath. The inner circlet is inscribed "Rifle Brigade". (The regiment was finally entitled to 16 battle honours for the Peninsular war but "Pyrenees" was not granted until 1910 - after the badge was designed.)

The Brigade was originally formed in 1800, eventually surviving as The Royal Green Jackets.
